Sinar International is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of final claims preparation and supporting documentation for our East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.
Your immediate priority will be to organise outstanding claim records, verify quantities and prepare complete, traceable submissions that support assessment and payment. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable working through drawings, measurements and project records.
Candidates with AutoCAD skills may be considered for an expanded QS-cum-Drafter position.
Key responsibilities
- Review the contract, Bill of Quantities (BoQ), previous claims and outstanding submission requirements.
- Prepare an outstanding claims and documentation tracker, identifying missing information, responsible persons and deadlines.
- Compile, cross-reference and organise supporting records, including:
- Requests for Inspection (RFI).
- Reprovisioning, Remedial and Improvement (RRI) documentation.
- Progress claims and payment certificates.
- Approved drawings, as-built drawings and site measurement records.
- Instructions, approvals, photographs and other relevant supporting evidence.
- Carry out quantity take-offs, measurements, BoQ breakdowns and supporting calculations.
- Reconcile claimed quantities against drawings, site records, previous submissions and certified amounts.
- Prepare and submit progress claims, final claims, variation submissions and final account documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, site teams and procurement to obtain missing records and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to assessment queries and maintain records of submitted, certified, disputed and outstanding amounts.
- Highlight omitted work items, unsupported claims, potential variations and other commercial issues to management.
- Support subcontractor account reconciliation and project close-out where required.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Approximately 3 years or more of relevant QS experience, preferably in M&E, infrastructure or rail projects.
- Practical experience preparing progress claims, final accounts and supporting documentation.
- Able to interpret M&E drawings, measure work and prepare clear BoQ calculations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and good document control habits.
- Able to identify gaps in records and follow up persistently with the relevant parties.
- Able to work independently and manage urgent submission deadlines.
- AutoCAD proficiency is an advantage, particularly for candidates interested in a combined QS and drafting role.
- Immediate or short-notice availability is highly preferred.
Why join us?
- Take ownership of an important commercial close-out assignment on a major infrastructure project.
- Work closely with project leadership and management.
- Apply your skills across technical records, claims and commercial reconciliation.
