Civil & Structural Engineer (Ipoh)

About the role

This role provides exposure to both structural engineering (superstructure, foundations, steel and concrete design) and civil engineering (earthworks, roads and drainage, sewerage, and water reticulation). As you develop your skills and identify your strengths, you will have the opportunity to specialise in either civil infrastructure or structural engineering.

Key responsibilities :

• Assist in civil infrastructure design, including site grading/earthworks, stormwater management, drainage networks, sewerage systems, and external water supply.
• Prepare design reports, calculation sheets, and technical notes for internal review and authority submissions.
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, design compliance, and buildability before release.
• Assist in interdisciplinary coordination to identify and resolve clashes between C&S models and Architectural or M&E designs.
• Support the Project Manager with project tracking, scheduling deliverables, and preparing meeting minutes or progress updates.
• Attend site visits, inspections, and technical meetings alongside senior engineers to observe site progress and construction methods.

About you :

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng / B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering or Civil & Structural Engineering from an accredited university recognized by relevant professional boards (e.g., BEM, or equivalent).
• Fresh graduates or junior engineers with up to 3 years of working experience in engineering consultancy or design-and-build environments.
• Fundamental understanding of structural mechanics, reinforced concrete design, and geotechnical basics.
• Familiarity with design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, ETABS, STAID Pro, Esteem, or Civil 3D) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of drafting tools such as AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM (Revit) is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical mindset with keen attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for coordination with clients, contractors, and authorities.
• Eager to learn, self-driven, and adaptable in a collaborative engineering team.
