Manufacturing Manager (Paitan/Sandakan)

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our production operations in Sabah. The successful candidate will head our non-metallic mineral processing factory, taking full ownership of production targets, plant efficiency, safety standards, and workforce management.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of working/leadership experience in a managerial or assistant manager role within a manufacturing or heavy processing factory environment.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing production teams, shift supervisors, and large factory workforces.
• Technical & Business Acumen: Strong expertise in factory process optimisation, capacity planning, resource allocation, and production budgeting.
• Quality & Compliance: Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, plant safety metrics, and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 operational standards.
• Residency Priority: Sabahan candidates will be given priority.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire daily operations of the non-metallic mineral processing factory to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to optimise plant throughput, reduce manufacturing costs, and minimise material wastage.
• Oversee factory budgets, operational expenditures (OPEX), and human resource planning (shift scheduling, manpower allocation).
• Champion a strict safety culture, ensuring all plant activities comply with OSH regulations and corporate ISO standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Lab Assistant (for quality control) and the Compliance Officer (for environmental and statutory alignment).
• Identify technical bottlenecks and coordinate with the maintenance engineering team to implement effective preventive maintenance schedules.
