Salary Range: RM 3,300 - RM 4,500

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Purchasing and Sourcing Executive to manage our supply chain and procurement operations. The core focus of this role is to identify top-tier manufacturers, negotiate competitive rates, and manage the end-to-end purchasing process. As a primary link to our Mandarin speaking supplier network, a fluent command of Mandarin is mandatory for handling technical specifications and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing & Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-quality vendors, particularly via platforms like Alibaba.
• Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service-level agreements to maximize cost savings.
• Purchase Order Processing: Review requisitions, issue detailed Purchase Orders (POs), and track deliveries to resolve delays.
• Cost & Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and material price fluctuations to identify strategic saving opportunities.
• Quality Control & Defect Management: Perform physical quality checks on inbound items, document defect rates, and manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Inventory, Warehouse, and Finance teams to align procurement schedules with stock demands.
• Vendor Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for vendor communications, resolving discrepancies and pricing disputes.
• On-Site Inspections: Travel to local or regional vendor warehouses to conduct audits and assess operational capacity.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven experience in procurement, with at least 2 years focused specifically on sourcing from China via Alibaba.
• Language Skills: Mandarin fluency is mandatory (reading, writing, and speaking) to handle business terms and technical contracts.
• Soft Skills: Sharp negotiation tactics, analytical thinking, and high integrity.
• Traits: A sharp eye for catching physical defects and high assertiveness when managing vendor quality.
