Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Production Manager to oversee and optimize daily food production operations. In this role, you will lead production planning, manage a dedicated team, and ensure strict compliance with international food safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Execution: Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines while minimizing downtime.
  • People Management: Lead, train, and manage a team of supervisors, line leaders, and production operators through effective coaching, delegation, and motivation.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all products strictly adhere to food safety regulations and quality standards including HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, and HALAL. Partner with QA/QC to resolve non-conformities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify optimization opportunities, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance using lean manufacturing principles and OEE tracking.
  • Maintenance & Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with the maintenance team for equipment upkeep. Monitor raw material usage alongside the supply chain/warehouse team to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Enforce workplace safety procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and perform risk assessments in compliance with local regulations.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present data-driven production reports and KPIs to senior management to guide operational decisions.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of working experience in food manufacturing, with at least 6 years in a managerial role.
  • Language Proficiency: Spoken and written fluency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin (Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders/team members).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office and production-related software such as ERP or Autocount systems.
  • Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of food safety standards and production systems. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple production lines under pressure.

Work Schedule & Arrangements

  • Regular Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Weekend Flexibility: Must be willing to return to work on Saturdays or Sundays if urgent production cases arise.
  • Entitlement: Replacement leave will be provided for any urgent weekend work.
