Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the Group, with a strong focus on property development, project-based finance, and statutory compliance. The role requires a candidate with a professional accounting background and hands-on experience in property development or real estate-related businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the Group’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide commercial insight and financial modelling to support development feasibility and investment decisions
  • Oversee financial management of property development projects, including feasibility analysis, project viability assessments, development budgets, cost control, and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage project financing structures, lender reporting, and funding drawdowns
  • Monitor project profitability and manage financial risks throughout the development lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Oversee preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and consolidated group reports
  • Manage audits, tax filings, and relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
  • Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions
  • Lead banking relationships, debt structuring, and financing negotiations
  • Oversee forecasting and liquidity planning across multiple projects and entities
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team
  • Work closely with development, construction, and commercial teams
  • Engage with external stakeholders including banks, investors, lawyers, valuers, and consultants

Requirements

  • Qualified professional (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in property development, real estate, or construction-related businesses
  • Strong background in financial reporting, taxation, audit, and compliance
  • Deep understanding of project-based accounting and development finance
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with Boards and senior executives
  • Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach
  • Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
