Safety & Health Officer (Bintulu)

Requirements:

• Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a SHO, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Registration as CePSWaM with DoE for scheduled waste management will be an added advantage and negotiable for a higher remuneration package
• Strong communication skills in both English and Bahasa Melayu (oral and written)
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Assist the HSE Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring the annual
• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) plan and training programs (e.g., PPE usage, safe chemical handling, safe work practices, emergency response, and first aid)
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and establish control measures across all work processes
• Prepare, review, and update the Risk Register and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) on a regular basis
• Plan and implement safety and health programs and initiatives within the factory
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and health regulations, Acts, and legal requirements, and enforce them within the workplace
• Propose improvements and preventive measures to enhance workplace safety and health performance
• Assist in the submission of compensation claims for industrial accidents
• Prepare and submit all statutory reports as required by law and regulatory authorities
• Maintain accurate safety and health records and compile data for management review
• Liaise with government and statutory bodies (e.g., JKKP, NREB, and others) on matters related to safety and health
