Job Description

Department: Quality & Research / Laboratory ​

Reports To: Plant Manager

Job Purpose: To support the company’s laboratory and quality operations by conducting routine testing, sample preparation, and assisting in research and development activities. ​ Ensure compliance with company standards, Halal requirements, KKM Pharmacy Department guidelines, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, while gaining exposure to analytical techniques, quality systems, and chemical product development. ​

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance & Testing:
    • Perform routine chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. ​
    • Record, document, and report test results following standard operating procedures (SOPs). ​
    • Support in troubleshooting product non-conformities under supervision. ​
    • Ensure proper labelling, storage, and tracking of samples. ​
  2. Laboratory Support:
    • Prepare reagents, standards, and test solutions for daily operations. ​
    • Maintain laboratory equipment and report calibration or maintenance needs. ​
    • Follow safety protocols, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures. ​
    • Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and safe. ​
  3. Research & Development Support:
    • Assist in trials and experiments for new product development. ​
    • Conduct literature searches and collect data for senior chemists. ​
    • Support product improvement projects by analyzing test data. ​
  4. Compliance & Documentation:
    • Follow to ISO (ISO 5001), GMP, Halal, Green Label, and KKM Pharmacy Department requirements. ​
    • Comply with all health, safety, and environment (HSE) local regulations.
    • Familiar with waste management according to local authority standards.
    •  Assist in preparing Certificates of Analysis (COA), technical reports, and audit documentation. ​
    • Participate in internal audits, inspections, and training sessions. ​

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. ​
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of lab or QA/QC experience in a chemical manufacturing plant (preferred). ​
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Basic knowledge of chemical laboratory techniques and safety practices. ​
    • Familiarity with Halal certification requirements (training provided). ​
    • Interest in KKM Pharmacy Department (NPRA) regulations. ​
    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping. ​
    • Good teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn. ​
    • Proficiency in MS Office and basic lab software. ​

Work Environment:

  • Laboratory-based with occasional exposure to the production floor. ​
  • PPE and safety training provided. ​
