The Controller is responsible for monitoring and managing closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to ensure the safety and security of personnel, property, and premises. This role involves real-time surveillance, incident detection, accurate reporting, and liaising with security personnel and law enforcement as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor multiple CCTV cameras and surveillance systems in real-time.
- Identify and respond to suspicious or unusual activities promptly.
- Maintain constant awareness of all monitored locations and communicate security risks to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate with Response Officer / on-site security teams to investigate incidents or potential threats.
- Record all significant incidents and maintain accurate logs and reports.
- Ensure all surveillance equipment is operational and report any technical faults or maintenance needs.
- Provide video footage to law enforcement or internal departments as needed, following data protection and privacy protocols.
- Adhere to all company policies and local legal regulations regarding CCTV use and data handling.
- Participate in periodic audits, system tests, and training sessions.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or IT certifications are a plus.
- Prior experience in a security or monitoring role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
- May require working in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High level of focus and concentration required.
