Principal Electrical Engineer (Rawang)

Our client has a new renewable design (CD Energy Systems) and  manufacturing facility in Integrated Energy Systems (IES ) producing DC to AC batteries and power generation units, principally for off grid and remote locations. In line with their expansion plan, they are currently looking to fill the following position

PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

(based in Rawang, Selangor)

Job Summary

Working closely with various Australian electrical design teams and the CTO, Designs, develops, tests and ensures efficient manufacturing of electrical equipment, components, or systems.  Leadership for the CD Energy Rawang design team. The role would require a blend of strong leadership and a strong technical base

 Job Responsibilities 

• Designs electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
• Prepares and studies technical drawings, specifications of electrical/electronic systems, and scopes of work to ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.
• Directs operations and coordinates manufacturing, procurement, construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements and optimum sourcing.
• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Confers with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
• May at times estimate labour, material, and construction costs, and prepares specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
• Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
• Inspects completed installations and observes operations for conformance to design and to create reference information for As Constructed documentation and future design.
• Develops and documents work procedures based on technical requirements of electrical equipment
• Adheres to the ISO Quality standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• 7 + years related experience in a electrical design role.
• Knowledge of electric circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware and software, including PLC and SCADA applications and programming.
• Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in modern production methods
• Knowledge of IoT and systems engineering principles
• Ability to calculate Earthing requirements, Loads, Breakers Cable losses.
• Demonstrated experience in using ECAD to produce schematics .
• Leadership and people skills
• Ability to define problems and implement suitable practical solutions
• Confident decision maker.
• Excellent English written and verbal skills.

 Salary RM12,000 – RM15,000 (negotiable). The position reports to the Engineering Manager
